Health Services Comprehensive Crisis Services

Crisis Services for adults

When an individual experiences a behavioral health crisis they may be at risk for severe instability and disruption in their daily functioning. This risk can be increased by several factors such as lack of natural support systems, isolation, or substance use disorders. Without therapeutic intervention the outcome of some behavioral health crisis can increase the risk for psychiatric hospitalization and involvment with law enforcement. EPIC Health Partners is here to help with Comprehensive Crisis Services for adults, children, and adolescents.

Our goal is to stabilize individuals experiencing acute crises in the community, where they reside and are comfortable. We provide support through evidence-based interventions and care coordination through our Mobile Crisis Response and Community Stabilization programs.

Mobile Crisis Response

Mobile Crisis Response is an immediate response service provided up to 8 hours over a 72 hour period. Individuals receiving this service are experiencing an active mental health crisis placing them at risk of hospitalization. Individuals receive services in his or her environment such as home, work, or the community.

Community Stabilization

Community stabilization provides continued stabilization to individuals transitioning from a high level of care (i.e. hospitalization or residential placement) to a long term support services (i.e mental health skills building, substance use services, etc.). This service is provided within the community and allows for individuals to have continued support during his or her transitional stage. Services can range from 1 to 7 days, hours are based on clinical necessity.

To utilize Mobile Crisis, an individual must:

Contact 988 (national network of more than 200 crisis centers across the USA) if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Thoughts of suicide,
  • Mental health or substance use concerns or
  • Any other kind of emotional distress. To qualify for Community Stabilization, an individual must be:
  • At risk for repeat admissions to a psychiatric facility
  • Currently residing in a therapeutic group home, or transitioning from any of the following:
  • 23 Hour Crisis Program
  • Acute Inpatient facilty
  • ASAM- 3.1-4.0
  • Community Services Board
  • Hospital Emergecny Room
  • Mobile Crisis Service
  • Mobile Crisis Response and Community Stabilization Programs are in Danville and Richmond, VA
